Yngwei Won Mattström is the First Sorcerer Shogun who leads the other Sorcerer Shoguns for Kall-Su.
Appearance[]
Yngwei is a tall man (taller than Kall-Su), who has longe orange/brownish hair, and green eyes. He posses a deep face with clefts[1], and a mole under his left eye. He wears a mostly white outfit with gray trim on his coat. His armor consists of a breastplate with two large shoulder guards.
Personality[]
Yngwei has calm and noble personality, and is a man of few words. He is extremely loyal to Kall-Su, to the point of it being blind faith.[1][2] He is the type to plow forward on his own hewn path.[1]
Background[]
Originally a solider of the Kingdom of Eclipse, Yngwei was defeated in battle by Kall-Su. After his defeat he became infatuated with the wizard's beliefs, and has vowed to serve him loyally since.[1]
History[]
Yngwei is first seen in the lands of Denis, thinking on the cold brought by Kall-Su's magic, and resolving to find the fourth seal keeping Anthrasax contained. His thoughts are interrupted by a solider in Kall-Su's army informing him of an attack on a local storehouse by peasants and the Samurai. Arriving at the storehouse he slaughters the rebelling peasants, and challenges the Samurai leader Joshua Berahia to combat, only to be challenged himself by Kai Harn.[3] After a short battle with Kai, both are interrupted by the arrival of Tia Noto Yoko, who traps Yngwei in a powerful spell bound, before retreating with Kai and the Samurai due to the arrival of more of Kall-Su's forces.[4]
Later, Yngwei is present for Kall-Su's report on the Shogun's conquests, and the need to find the final seal of Anthrasax so they can build their utopia. Yngwei attempts to inform Kall-Su of Yoko and Kai's survival, and presence among the Samurai, only to be shocked at Kall-Su already knowing the information.[5]
When the Vampire Di-Amon attempts to sneak into Judas Castle to kill Kall-Su, Yngwei would come to the aid of Shella E. Lee, who was already in battle with the intruder. Despite more Shogun arriving to assist, they would be overpowered by Di-Amon, whose strength was being enhanced by the full moon. The group is saved by the arrival of Kall-Su, who does battle with the vampire and drives him off. Yngwei would be injured in the battle by Kall-Su, who uses a spell despite Yngwei being close enough to be caught in it. When confronted by Shella about how Kall-Su has changed, as before he would never hurt one of his allies with a spell, Yngwei expresses that his only care is that Kall-Su is safe.[6]
Yngwei later joins most of the Sorcerer Shogun in commanding the airship fleet sent by Kall-Su to find King Crimson Glory where Princess Sheila Metallicana, who carries the final seal on Anthrasax, is hidden.[6] As the fleet approaches King Crimson Glory they encounter a magical storm generated by the flying city as a defense measure. Within the storm is a cloud dragon that begins destroying the airship fleet with its powerful attacks. As they cross the storm the Shogun are in awe at the sheer size of the flying city, and notice the transporter beam used by Dark Schneider, and the Samurai, to reach the city. The dragon's continued attacks on the fleet force it to crash across the city, scattering the Shogun.[7]
After being scattered across the surface of King Crimson Glory, Yngwei would notice the explosions coming from a fight between D.S. and Kall-Su.[8]
Yngwei would eventually manage to reunite with his fellow Shoguns Vlad, and Sykes near the Temple where Shelia was located. As they make their way to the temple they are stopped by Gara, and Arshes Nei. Sykes and Vlad would attempt to attack the two, not knowing who they are. Yngwei's attempt to warn them would be too late, and the two would be defeated by the Divine Kings.[9]
Watching the fight between Dark Schneider, and Kall-Su, alongside Gara and Nei, Yngwei would react in shock as the battle would lead to Kall-Su killing himself in a moment to clarity, to free himself from Anthrasax's control, the final seal on Anthrasax being broken due to the dark powers released by Kall-Su and Dark Schneider's fight, and the dark god mutating its cells around Kall-Su's body into a horrible monster under its control. As the remaining Divine Kings begin fighting the monster, to protect the injured Dark Schneider from its attacks, the Samurai and Shogun would join forces to fight it in a large battle. After a resurrected Kall-Su breaks free from the monster, the assembled warriors would watch and Dark Schneider and Kall-Su destroy the creature with their combined powers. The Shogun would witness the tearful reunion of D.S. and Arshes Nei, and have their own with Kall-Su, as well as seeing the threat given by the projection of Anthrasax above King Crimson Glory.[10]

Yangwei is one of the most powerful of the Sorcerer Shogun. The large shoulder pads on his armor are made of ceramic, and are extremely hard, but lightweight.[1][11]

- Super Earthquake Rupture: More powerful version of the Yajo-Teioken that creates a vacuum blade.
- Yajo-Teioken: A sword attack that moves so fast it appears as a flash of light to ordinary people.
