Suzuki Dogezaemons (鈴木土下座ェ門, Suzuki Dogezaemon) are one of the world's oldest enchanted animals.
Overview[]
The Suzuki Dogezaemon is a beast from the demon world, and belongs to an ancient race of creatures. They can sometimes materialize in the material world, in places like cellars, fallow land, wastelands, labyrinths, or underground, but this is rare. However the awakening of Anthrasax has weakened the barriers between dimensions, allowing it to appear more easily.[1][2]
There are few Suzuki Dogezaemon in existence, and they can protect themselves with powerful Shield spells that negate magic, and a number of physical attacks such as the Dogeza Destruction Ray, Dogeza Hypnosis Wave, Dogeza punch, Dogeza Chop, Dogeza Two-Dan Gelii, and the Dogeza Flying Knee Drop.[1][2]
History[]
A Suzuki Dogezaemon appears in the path of Dark Schneider, and Sheila, as they attempt to make their way through Gara's Ninja Fortress. Dark Schneider's initial attacks prove ineffective due to the Dogezaemon's shield, however a strike by Sheila with a metal rod causes the Dogezaemon's barrier to falter, allowing Dark Schneider to defeat it with the Sodom spell.[1]
Trivia[]
- This monster was originally named "Beholder" but there was a complaint from the Japanese publisher of D&D about Hagiwara using "Beholder" in the comics, so the he changed the monster's name to "Suzuki Dogezaemon", saying that his editor Suzuki had done dogeza (kind of humiliating apology in Japan). However, this was just a joke as his editor's name was not Suzuki, and the real editor did not dogeza at all.
