Murasame is a cursed demon sword, and the signature weapon of Gara.
Appearance[]
The Murasame resembles a Japanese nodachi or longsword, with a rectangular tsuba or guard. The blade is 6 feet 1 inch (184cm) long[1], and emits an eternal light. The drawing of the sword creates a sound like wind passing through mists. The sword is said to be possessed by an evil spirit.[2]
The hilt of the blade can extend, causing several mechanical rods to come out of it. These rods sink back into the hilt once the user activates its true power.[3]
History[]
Little is known of the history of the Murasame blade, only that all of its wielders have died tragically because of the sword draining their life force.[1][2]
Eventually, it passed into the hands of Dark Schneider through presently unknown circumstances, who gave it to Ninja Master Gara after the ninja joined him. Gara's ability to use the sword for so long without dying is believed to be because the Murasame has recognized Gara as its true master.[1]
Power[]
The Murasame is said to be the ultimate sword, even more powerful than the Fire Sword.[4] It has the ability to greatly empower its wielder, and banish demons, at the cost of the user's life force.[1][2]
- Majinken: Using the sword's power Gara unleashes a volley of slashes through the air to cut his opponent.
- True Majinken: An even more powerful version of the Sword of Mystery. Capable of producing a super sonic energy blast.
- Keiun Kininken: The Murasame's ultimate attack. By taking in the life force of its wilder the Murasame can be greatly empowered, and gains the ability to cut across dimensions.
