The Raijin-Ken, or Lightning God Sword, is one of three elemental magical swords in the world of Bastard

Synopsis

Arshes Nei explains the Raijin-Ken

The Raijin-Ken, along with the Ice Falchion and Fire Sword, is one of three powerful elemental magic swords. Their origins are unknown, but all three are in fact living beings in and of themselves. The Raijin-Ken contains the thunder spirit beast Nue.

The Raijin-Ken can assume the form of the powerful elemental spirit the Nue, who commands lightning and storm.  Because of this, the Raijin-Ken can unleash powerful lightning attacks, and fly around at the command of its master, Arshes Nei. Its physical blade, when shattered, reveals its true blade, which is made of electricity, so can't be blocked be physical weapons, as happened when Gara tried to block it with Murasame.

Power

The Raijin-Ken is said to be on par with the Fire Sword in terms of power, and known to have been able to slice mountains in two. Despite its power, the Murasame's special attack was able to split the blade in two when Nei tried to block it. The sword was shown to be able to regenerate its damaged blade.

Like the Fire Sword and Ice Falchion, the wielder of the Raikin-Ken gains access to lightning magic beyond their normal abilities.

History

The blade is first seen being used by Nei again Gara during her attack on the Kingdom of Metallicana. During this battle Gara manages to break the blade using one of his attacks, though Nei is able to retaliate against Gara using the Raijin-Ken's blade of thunder.

The sword would appear, blade reforged, again during Nei's second attack on the kingdom. With her using its power to cast the Megadeth spell. She would use the sword to fight Dark Schneider, and his fire sword, before Efreet throws himself and the Raijin-Ken into the orb created by the Def Leppard spell to destroy the orb, and restore Dark Schneider's magic.

The Raijin-Ken would return to Arshe's possession later. During the fight with Lich Dark Schneider and Nei get pulled into a vortex created by the Satan's Ring. Dark Schneider and Nei would find the elemental swords, and their guardians, and use their power to survive in the other dimension. Once Lich reopened the vortex, in an attempt to kill Gara, Dark Schneider and Nei would escape the other dimension using the power of the elemental's, with the Raijin-Ken now being returned to Nei's possession.

Arhes Nei would later call the Nue, and the Raijin-Ken, back to her side, and use the sword against Abigail after he invaded Metallicana Castle.
