Hell, also known as the Hell Empire, was one of the planes of existence in Bastard!!
Overview[]
The home of demons, devils, and the damned, Hell was the home of the universe's most evil beings.
Hell was layered into nine circles, those being the circles of Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud, and Treachery. The ninth circle, the circle of Treachery, also known as the frozen ice lake of Cocytus, was further divided into the regions of Caina, Antenora, Ptolomaea, and Judecca.[1]
Like the spirit world, Hell exists in the fourth dimension, which is also known as the astral dimension.[2]
History[]
Following the wars in Heaven, Lucifer, Satan, and the other rebellions Angels, were cast into Hell, and became demons. The gates of Hell were sealed using the Judas Pain, and watched over by the angel Abaddon, preventing the Demons from escaping.[3]
During the apocalypse four hundred years before the events of the story, the demons were able to escape Hell, and manifest on Earth, where they did battle with the armies of Heaven. While the demons were defeated, the Divine Demon God was able to break the Judas Pain into eight pieces, setting up a chain of events that would cause the gates of Hell to be opened again in the future.[3]
Following the battles on King Crimson Glory, the gates of Hell were opened once again, and demons poured out onto Earth. Four years later, the battles between Dark Schneider, Conlon, the Seraphs, and the fallen angel Uriel, led them to Hell, and eventually back to Earth.
Locations[]
Several Important locations in Hell are seen, or mentioned.
- Acheron River: A river that flowed past the gates of Hell.
- Eiwigkeit: Conlon's castle on the first layer of Hell.
- Hell's Gate: An indestructible dimensional lock that was surrounded by huge flames, and blocked demons' ability to leave Hell. Could only be opened by the Judas Pain, and was guarded by the angel Abaddon.
- Lethe River: A river at the entrance to Hell. The unconscious Lilith was found here by Beelzebub.
- Pandemonium: A large palace made of gold, and other precious metals. It was summoned from the icy lake of Cocytus by Satan. Pandemonium housed the Seven Demon Princes, and contained hundreds of billions of microscopic demons.
- Ptolomaea: An eternal sea of ice where the demon's Augoeides are imprisoned. Dark Schneider melted the ice sea with the Exodus spell. Sometime after the gates of Hell were opened the demon's Augoeides were freed, and the Angel's Augoeides were trapped here instead.

- The structure of Hell, and the names of its circles, is based on Dante's Inferno.
