Efreet (イーフリート, Īfurīto) is a Demon god spirit residing on the Plane of Fire, one of the Four Elemental Planes. He has appeared in the human world a few times, usually as a demon sword in desert temples.[1]
Appearance[]
Possessing a scorching copper colored body, long fans, and black leather wings[2], Efreet is enormous and always surrounded by flames.[1]
Personality[]
Extremely prideful and highly intelligent, Efreet possesses a confrontational personality.[1] However, he is loyal to those he has recognized has his master, being willing to lay down his life for them.[2]
History[]
Efreet has existed for 300 years, and has remained undefeated in that time.[3] Though he has been summoned by evil spell casters, and forced to serve against his will.[2]
Efreet is first introduced appearing before Dark Schneider and Sheila Metallicana as they pass through Gara's Ninja Fortress, threatening them with death for having disturbed the Fire Sword.[4] After Dark Schneider defeats Efreet in combat, the elemental submits to Dark Schneider, transforming back into the sword to acknowledge its new master.[3]
He would later return during Dark Schneider's second battle with Arshes Nei. Having sensed that his master was in danger, due to Nei blocking Dark Schneider's magic, Efreet flie to his master's aid.[5] Efreet transforms back into the sword so Dark Schneider can fight Nei, and later throws himself, and Nei's Raijin-Ken, into the orb created by the Def Leppard spell to destroy it, and restore his master's magic powers.[6]
After Dark Schneider and Nei get sucked into the vortex created by Lich using the Satan's Ring, the two find the guardians of the elemental swords in the other realm, and use their powers to protect themselves. Dark Schneider and Nei eventually escape using the elementals powers, once Lich reopened the vortex in an attempt to kill Gara. After escaping, Efreet transforms back into the Fire Sword, which Dark Schneider uses to kill Lich.[7]
In scenes exclusive to the 2022 Anime, Efreet returns to assist Dark Schneider during his fight with Abigail. The elemental uses his fire attacks to keep Abigail's giant skeleton monster busy, giving D.S. time to finish casting his Helloween spell, which the wizard uses against the giant skeleton. After D.S. defeats the giant skeleton, and beats up Abigail, Efreet transforms back into the Fire Sword, and D.S. tosses it, impaling Abigail against some rubble.[8]
Powers[]
Efreet is a demon god of the Fire Elemental Plane, and the strongest being in that plane.[2] He has large control of, and resistance against, fire, to the point of resisting heat that could melt rock into lava. Being a demon lord of fire he can freely cast fire spells, and fire magic from his enemies adds to his power.[4]
He also possesses the ability to turn into the Fire Sword, for those by those he deems worthy.[2]
Spells:[]
- Guns N Ro': Creates a large wall of fire where the caster desires. Efreet's Guns and Roses is twice as hot as Dark Schneider's.
- Hellion: Spell only Efreet can use. Turns his body into a 2,000 degree pillar of flame.
